Kinetic Type In progress WEDNESDAY (comment on this one)

This is where I am at so far. I have finished the type treatment and will apply effects soon. I am happy with the results so far!

  1. Very engaging! I love the variety of size and placement. You use a lot of the space on screen and have a healthy amount of negative space that doesn't feel too open or too cluttered! Only note is maybe finding something to fit into that 4 seconds of dead air at the end
Also love the pink for Elle Woods :)

  2. I love the timing and placement of the text. It's very entertaining. I suggest maybe just making it slightly more consistent. It felt a little all over the place once the text started appearing right to left instead of left to right.

  3. I love the audio you chose obviously, and I think your font and scale choices work really well!

  4. Very inspiring audio! I really enjoyed the variety of different font sizes, along with the placement of them. Now that you have the words synced I would mess around with effects!

  8. This looks great! The varied type size and fonts is done very well. Only thing I would say is maybe adding an exclamation point at the end of "We did it" for further emphasis and for funsies!

  10. This looks really strong. I like how you played with different type sizes and fonts to emphasize key moments in the audio. The timing feels smooth and the text is easy to follow, which makes the message clear and engaging overall.

  12. Overall, nice work here. You are in a very good place to be for the project right now. "but in my three years at Harvard..."is too small. Watch your point sizes. With type I always use the text properties menu to bring up the point size and not the scale parameter. Usually that's a lot easier to keep my sizes consistent. Remember Melody, chorus, Melody. ABA. You don't want Melody chorus and then a different melody and then a different chorus. Also careful with your word spacing. Just make sure you are consistent. Possibly some text could change word spacing – tracking. There's a great text animator for tracking where you could also use it for a dynamic intro or outro. I would watch my front choice and sizes carefully because clients will and their eyes are much better than mine. Usually more than two or maybe three differing sizes becomes very competitive. So when you went to emphasize a certain word with scale, just make sure every time you do this, it's the same size and same font and possibly the same transition. Melody, chorus, melody. Good for you for making it a minute long, but you still have about three seconds at the end to fill. Maybe a credit title card? You really want to get the overall layout, style, and design of the page before you start animating intros, outro, and transitions. But overall great work.
